Brush Lettering + Watercolor Workshop

In this 4 part course, Jess demonstrates the basics of brush lettering (a form of modern calligraphy) and loose watercolor painting. Learn what supplies are needed to start brush lettering, as well as the fundamental strokes that make up the letters of the alphabet. Next, learn how to use watercolor to complement your lettering with expressive background washes and beautiful flora. Jess will guide you through these skills and teach you how incorporate them to create gorgeous pieces.

LESSON 1: Brush Lettering Basics

In lesson 1, Jess has provided a downloadable guide sheet to work from. She'll show you how to use a brush tip pen to make basic strokes and letters of the alphabet. 

LESSON 2: Watercolor Basics
In this lesson, Jess demonstrates a variety of watercolor wash techniques, textures, layering, and other watercolor methods to help get you started.


LESSON 3: Painting Botanicals
In the 3rd video lesson of the series, Jess demonstrates how to paint loose and colorful botanicals in watercolor.



LESSON 4: Putting it all TogetherIn the last lesson of the series, Jess shows you how to combine the elements of brush lettering and watercolor into one beautiful, fresh and vibrant piece.
